LONDON, UK – April 30, 2015 – Element Materials Technology will present new insights at next month’s AeroMat 2015 conference in Long Beach, CA that are set to deliver extensive time efficiencies in failure analysis when applied to the production and processing of Aluminum for the global Aerospace industry.

One of Element’s foremost Engaged Experts on aluminum and Aerospace alloys, JT Staley, will present critical studies on the investigation of root cause failure as it relates to the testing and integrity of Aerospace aluminum and related components, with the aim of reducing the risk of component failure and thereby minimizing the potential loss of time on critical projects in the industry.

The presentation will include outlines of and contextual information on NDT, metallographic and fractographic analysis, routine mechanical tests or more advanced fracture mechanics tests, in order to allow aircraft designers, Aerospace engineers and other industry partners to make better-informed decisions about the failure analysis testing available to them. The presentation draws on JT’s extensive experience in failure analysis over the course of the last 25 years.

Rick Sluiters, Element’s Executive Vice President, Aerospace, comments: “The AeroMat 2015 conference brings together industry-leading Aerospace materials scientists to collaborate on knowledge-sharing initiatives. We are delighted that JT Staley will be showcasing innovative failure analysis solutions to his industry peers, delivering efficiencies where our clients need them the most.”

The AeroMat 2015 conference is organized by ASM International. The event will take place at the Long Beach Convention Center in Long Beach, CA on May 11-14, with Element’s JT Staley presenting “Virtual Failure Analysis of an Aerospace Aluminum Alloy Component” on Wednesday May 13 in Room 202A at 13:30 (PST).
