The 15,000 sq ft Element Warsaw facility will double the company’s previous laboratory space at the site, with capabilities including microbiological, bio-burden and cytotoxicity testing. The new laboratory’s main focus will be food safety through the microbiological testing of salmonella and E. coli.
Located in the ‘orthopedic center of the world’ – with Zimmer, Biomet, DePuy Synthes Joint Reconstruction and Paragon based in the area – the development of medical device-testing facilities will continue throughout 2015 with the installation of clean-rooms for the control of microbial contamination.
Chris LaMothe, Element’s Executive Vice President, Transportation and Industrials, comments: “We’ve seen consistent growth at Element Warsaw over the past five years and this major new contract meant that the time was right to significantly expand our capacity. Our new facility will provide best-in-class performance for food safety testing and further our medical device-testing services, which is an area of huge potential growth for Element.
“The significant growth of our key accounts across Element’s global platform demonstrates that we are putting clients at the center of everything we do. We are continuing to develop trusted partnerships that allow us to support better business opportunities and build testing capabilities to match the specific needs of our clients.”
Experts at Element Warsaw will collaborate with other medical device-testing laboratories throughout the company’s global platform, including its leading Cincinnati, OH, Daleville, IN and St Paul, MN facilities.
