Hosted by the Berlin Brandenburg Aerospace Alliance (BBAA), the Wildau Technical University of Applied Sciences and the Aerospace Technology Centre, the conference is set to focus on new technological developments and future innovative processes within the aeronautical testing and simulation industry.
Dave Podrug, Advanced Materials Business Manager at Element, will address delegates in a plenary session on the subject of ‘Advanced Materials - Industry Demands for Materials and New Types of Testing’, where he will outline the motivating factors behind the aerospace Prime’s demands for next-generation materials, including Ceramic Matrix Composites (CMCs) and Polymer Matrix Composites (PMCs), and the innovative testing methods being developed by Element to support these.
Dr. Rod Martin, Division Director UK at Element, will hold a workshop at the conference on the subject of ‘Testing Self-Healing Aerospace Composites’, following the company’s involvement in a pan-European research initiative utilizing nano-technology to turn secondary structural composites into self-healing materials.
Attended by established organizations within the sector from Europe and the US, including universities, research institutions and commercial businesses, other key topics will include remote testing procedures, self-controlled systems and component to system testing.
Element’s presence at the event follows the news that the company has significantly strengthened its presence at the heart of the European aerospace testing market, following its acquisition of the highly-regarded German testing company GEVA earlier this month.
