Giantonio Toldo, Operations Manager for Element Materials Technology (Element) Padova laboratory in Limena, Italy, has been appointed as the Vice President of the Italian Association for Metallurgy’s (AIM) Technical Committee for the Control and Characterization of Materials.
Giantonio has been involved with AIM for the past three years and has previously taught chemical analysis courses. Now, as VP, he will be responsible for coordinating activities and extending the work of the organization, particularly with regards to engaging young people.
AIM is a non-profit cultural body which aims to bring together those who study and work in the field of metallic materials to share experiences and develop industry ideas through organized activities and networking events.
Giantonio said: “I’m very excited to take on this role as VP. It’s a real honor, particularly as I was selected from a number of very skilled and highly influential people in the industry.
“Having worked with Element for the past 11 years, I have gained a great deal of experience in metallurgy and metallurgical testing which I believe will be hugely beneficial in my new role.
“The committee has undergone significant changes in the past two years and the former president did a fantastic job of involving new, young people and creating different activities which I look forward to developing even further.”
