Gregory Parrott

Gregory Parrott is a Senior Cybersecurity and IoT Test Engineer at Element, specializing in EN 18031 and EN 303 645 compliance testing.
Experience
Gregory joined Element, based in our Hull laboratory in 2021. His first role was as an Associate Zigbee Test Engineer, primarily focused on Zigbee Smart Energy testing.
In 2024 Gregory was appointed as Protocol Test Engineer, expanding his Zigbee experience to include MAC Testing and getting involved with the new Matter Protocol.
In January 2026 Gregory moved to the newly created role of Senior Cybersecurity and IoT Test Engineer, following the UKAS Accreditation for Product Cybersecurity Testing (attained in October 2025). Gregory works across a wide variety of products, testing compliance to EN 18031, parts 1 to 3 as well as EN 303 645. He also regularly attends industry events, hosting Cyber Readiness Sessions.
Career Highlights
Gregory has attended various CSA Member meetings, representing Element as an authorized test laboratory, which includes giving feedback into proposed new standards and changes to existing standards.
He is also an active member of CSA Working Groups, including attendance at Standard Validation Events and Script Validation Events, which includes checking the robustness of new test methods and test scripts before standards are released.
