Methods and solutions offered

Our comprehensive testing approach includes both suspension-based and carrier-based methods. We perform all required validations including culture purity, sterility, neutralization, and initial suspension controls to ensure accurate, compliant results.

EN 1040 - Basic Bactericidal Activity of Chemical Disinfectants

This test determines the basic bactericidal activity of a disinfectant or antiseptic. A bacterial suspension is mixed with the test substance for a specified exposure time. The reaction is then stopped using dilution neutralization or filtration neutralization, and the number of surviving bacteria is measured to calculate the reduction in viable counts. Appropriate sterility, culture purity, and neutralization controls are included.

EN 1275 - Basic Fungicidal and Yeasticidal Activity of Chemical Disinfectants

This test evaluates the fungicidal or yeasticidal activity of a disinfectant or antiseptic. A fungal suspension is added to the test substance and exposed for a defined period. The reaction is halted via dilution neutralization or filtration neutralization. The most contemporary method published by the CEN for the preparation/processing of Aspergillus, as referenced in EN 1650, is used in this protocol. Surviving fungi are counted to determine effiacacy. Controls for sterility, culture purity, and neutralization validation ensure reliable results.

EN 1276 - Bactericidal Activity for Chemical Disinfectants in Industrial, Domestic, and Food Areas

This test assesses disinfectants used in food, industrial, and domestic settings excluding situations where disinfection is medically indicating and excluding products used on living tissues except those for hand hygiene.A bacterial suspension is exposed to the test substance under controlled conditions. After a set time, the reaction is neutralized, and surviving bacteria are counted to measure bactericidal effectiveness. The method includes sterility, culture purity, and neutralization controls.

EN 1650 - Fungicidal Activity for Chemical Disinfectants

This test evaluates the ability of a disinfectant or antiseptic to kill fungi and yeast. A fungal suspension is exposed to the test substance and neutralized after a set time. Survivors are counted to calculate the reduction in viable fungi. Controls for sterility, culture purity, and neutralization validation ensure accuracy.

EN 13727 - Bactericidal Activity for Disinfectants in Medical Settings

This test measures the bactericidal effectiveness of disinfectants used in medical environments for surface and instrument disinfection. A bacterial suspension is exposed to the test substance, then neutralized and tested for survivors. The reduction in viable bacteria is calculated, with sterility, culture purity, and neutralization controls ensuring precise results.

EN 13624 - Fungicidal and Yeasticidal Activity for Medical Disinfectants

This test assesses the effectiveness of medical disinfectants on fungi and yeast, particularly for instrument disinfection. A fungal suspension is exposed to the test substance and neutralized after a set period. The reduction in viable fungi is determined, with sterility, culture purity, and neutralization controls validating the results.

EN 14348 - Mycobactericidal Activity for Medical Disinfectants

This test evaluates the ability of a disinfectant to kill Mycobacteria (including tuberculosis-causing bacteria) in medical settings. A Mycobacterial suspension is exposed to the disinfectant, then neutralized and assessed for survivors. The reduction in Mycobacteria is calculated, with controls for sterility, culture purity, and neutralization validation ensuring reliability.

EN 13697 - European Quantitative Surface Test for Bactericidal Activity

A bacterial film is dried onto a carrier surface and exposed to the test substance for a set time. After exposure, the carriers are placed in a neutralizing medium and tested for surviving bacteria. The method includes modifications for consistent lab performance and allows a ±1-hour incubation window for flexibility. Appropriate sterility, culture purity, and neutralization controls are conducted.
