Rancho Dominguez

Element Materials Technology Rancho Dominguez operates a 52,000-square-foot laboratory in Rancho Dominguez, California, serving as one of the most highly accredited non-destructive testing facilities in Southern California. Established in 2000 as an expansion of Element's Huntington Beach destructive testing laboratory, the site supports customers in aerospace, defense, space, energy, and industrial sectors across the region and beyond.

 

The laboratory provides a full range of NDT services, including liquid penetrant inspection, magnetic particle inspection, ultrasonic testing, eddy current testing, and radiographic testing using both conventional and digital methods. A key differentiator is the facility's 4 MeV linear accelerator, which enables high-energy X-ray imaging of dense, thick-walled components that standard radiographic systems cannot accommodate.

NAS-410 and ASNT certified technicians evaluate materials, components, and assemblies across all major NDT methods. In addition to laboratory services, Element Rancho Dominguez offers full-scale macroetch, passivation, alkaline cleaning, and other Nadcap-accredited chemical processing services, as well as mobile field inspection for organisations requiring accredited NDT support on-site.
